Mauer House is a place to buy original art from the person who made it. It should feel like walking through an art fair, not scrolling a discount aisle.
Three things we do differently
A person reviews every listing before it goes live
Not a filter. A person, with a checklist, looking at the work, the photos and the artist’s portfolio. Every listing shows the date it was reviewed. If a piece doesn’t meet the guidelines, it doesn’t appear.
No advertising anywhere
No promoted listings, no sponsored slots, no paid badges. The only way to appear higher is to make better work and better listings. We take a 9% commission when a piece sells, and that’s all.
No manipulation
No fake sales, no countdown timers, no “12 people have this in their cart”, no AI-generated art. A price is a price. Originals are one of one, and sold pieces stay visible so you can see an artist’s whole body of work.
The people behind the work
Every artist here has shown us who they are and that the work is theirs. Their page has their studio, their process and their sold archive. When you buy an original you get a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist and by us, and your money stays with us until the piece arrives.
